Former MLB player Dave Parker recently visited Fort Wayne. Seeing an article about him in the local paper reminded of what I think is one of the greatest plays I have ever seen (from the 1979 All-Star Game). Watch it here.
The man playing first base for the National League in this All-Star game is Pete Rose, the only player in MLB history to be an All-Star at five different positions (2B, RF, LF, 3B, 1B). That is one of many records Charlie Hustle achieved, the greatest being MLB's all-time hits leader. However, I "bet" he'll never be elected to the Hall of Fame. What a shame!
