I started a new sermon series yesterday about Heaven. I have been enjoying the prep work for the series. We sent out 5000 postcards to the community (from outreach.com) and advertised in the newspaper. As a result, we had several new people here yesterday.

I find heaven a very interesting subject. I started a class this Sunday morning on heaven. I find it interesting that in the Old Testament you see no promise of heaven as we know it. God doesn't tell Israel if you follow my commandments you will go to heaven and spend eternity with me. I have a post on my blog about Heaven, Hell and the Old Testament. It has been a very interesting discussion.
I also have enjoyed Joe Beam and Lee Wilson's book on The Real Heaven: It's Not What You Think.
They take the approach of the renewed earth. Very interesting.
