Hope Springs Eternal

I was listening to Tony Kornheiser the other day and he mentioned that the Cubs are entering the 99th year of their rebuilding program. Ouch. But Tony and Mike Wilbon interviewed new skipper Lou Piniella, and Lou has high hopes for the Cubs this year. I fear that I'm being sucked into that Spring Training hope that, "this year might be, could be, THE year." Time will tell. Everybody is good in March, right?

Wishful thinking is an enchanting place to dwell. Enjoy it, at least until the season starts.

I was at the Cubs / Pirates game last September when Wrigley had lits lowest gate attendance in over ten years. If ever there was a rebuilding year, this has to be it. Is this the year? I don't know, but I am confidant that it has to be better than last year!
